The Acoustic Microphone is a very sensetive device that detects the noise of the leak escaping from the pipe. This noise can be magnified if the system is drained down and the water replaced with air, which creates a very distinctive noise. Initially this can simply confirm the existence of a leak, and its approximate position. Further work, including calibrating the sound from 2 different positions, can pinpoint its precise location. The Acoustic Microphone can be used on any type of pipe leak, including central heating, underfloor heating, mains, hot and cold.

The Acoustic Microphone equipment we use is by Sewerin, which is state of the art and the best equipment on the market. We pride ourselves on using the very latest leak detection techniques to locate and resolve problems, this ensures the minimum amount of disruption to you and your home.

Leak Detection Areas

*NO FIND NO FEE LEAK DETECTION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Applies to internal hot and cold pipe leaks only (excludes central heating leaks and incoming mains).
Not applicable to damp and water damage caused by construction defects.
Not applicable if there are no plumbing leak(s) to be found.
Limited to a single 8-hour day.
Applies to domestic properties only with a maximum of 1 kitchen and 3 bathrooms (includes WCs/cloakrooms, ensuite and alike).
Not applicable when pipe runs in any type of ducting and/or beneath a membrane.
Leak detection is considered successful when the leak is narrowed down to a room and/or an area of 5m x 5m.
Not applicable when we are not also instructed to carry out the leak access and repair.
If there are multiple leaks, then our time is chargeable if we have to return at a separate date or time.
Leak access and repair is always charged separately from leak detection.
